Prof. dr hab. n. med. Janusz E. Badurski
He received his medical degree at the Medical University of Bialystok. During his work at the Department of Internal Medicine and Rheumatology he obtained two double specializations in internal medicine and laboratory diagnostics. D. thesis and later habilitation, after fellowship at the New York Medical College, concerned the secretion and barrier function of the stomach. He received the title of professor at the Institute of Rheumatology in Warsaw.
In 1982 he organized and became head of the Department of Internal Medicine and Osteoarthrology with the Pain Treatment Clinic.Since 1986 he was chairman of the Osteoarthrology Section of the Polish Medical Association, and since 1991 – of the Polish Osteoporosis Foundation.
He is interested in scientific papers, publications, and popularization activity concerning bone and cartilage metabolism with its clinical aspects – osteoporosis and osteoarthritis.
Dr hab. n. med., prof. UML Tomasz Blicharski
A graduate of the Faculty of Medicine at the Medical University of Lublin (now Medical University). Specialist in orthopaedics and traumatology of the musculoskeletal system and medical rehabilitation. Since 2019, Deputy Head of the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation of the Department of Orthopaedics. He received his postdoctoral degree in 2018.
He is chairman of the Bone Metabolic Diseases Section of the Polish Society of Orthopaedics and Traumatology and is a member of the Polish Society of Rehabilitation. He has authored and co-authored numerous Philadelphia-listed publications with an IF of over 110.
In his professional work he is interested in various aspects of osteoarthrosis and metabolic bone diseases with particular emphasis on osteoporosis. He is also involved in designing clinical trials related to the implementation of monoclonal antibodies.
He lectures at numerous national and international conferences and at courses and practical workshops in orthopaedics and rehabilitation. He has won national and international awards.
Prof. dr hab. n. med. Marek Brzosko
Prof. Cyrus Cooper
Professor of Rheumatology and Director of the MRC Lifecourse Epidemiology Unit; Associate Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Southampton; Professor of Epidemiology in the Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences, University of Oxford.
He leads an internationally competitive research programme on the epidemiology of musculoskeletal diseases, particularly osteoporosis.
He is President of the International Osteoporosis Foundation, Chair of the BHF Project Grants Committee, NIHR Senior Researcher Emeritus and Editor-in-Chief of Osteoporosis International. He has previously served as Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Committee, International Osteoporosis Foundation; Chairman of the MRC Population Health Sciences Research Network; Chairman of the National Osteoporosis Society of Great Britain; Past President of the Bone Research Society of Great Britain; and served on numerous Department of Health, European Community and World Health Organization committees and working groups. He has published extensively (over 1200 research papers; hi=213) on osteoporosis and rheumatic diseases and pioneered clinical research into the developmental origins of peak bone mass. In 2015 he was awarded an OBE for services to medical research.
Prof. Steven Cummings
Internal medicine specialist and professor of medicine, epidemiology and biostatistics at UC San Francisco. He is executive director of the San Francisco Coordinating Center at the California Pacific Medical Center Research Institute. He is an internationally recognized expert on osteoporosis and fracture prevention.
He has directed large clinical trials that led to FDA approval of most of the drugs used to treat osteoporosis – Alendronate, Zoledronate, Denosumab and Raloxifene. He designed and led large longitudinal studies on osteoporosis risk factors, including the Study of Osteoporotic Fractures for older women and MrOS for older men.
He has also designed and led several of the largest and most influential studies on aging, including the Longevity Consortium. He has over 600 peer-reviewed publications and has won several awards for his osteoporosis research, including the ASBMR William Neuman Award for Outstanding and Major Scientific Contributions and the Frederick Bartter Award for Excellence in Clinical Research in Bone and Mineral Research. He was also elected to the prestigious National Academy of Medicine in the National Academy of Sciences for his contributions to clinical research and research on the health of postmenopausal women.
Prof. dr hab. n. med. Edward Czerwiński
Prof. Edward Czerwinski, MD is a professor at Jagiellonian University with 49 years of professional experience as an orthopedist and traumatologist. He worked for 36 years at the Department of Orthopaedics of the Jagiellonian University Medical College, including 6 years as its head. For 48 years he has been dealing with bone and joint diseases, initially with fluorosis and for 29 years with osteoporosis.
Founder (1995) and director of the Krakow Medical Center (until 2020), currently Senior Medical Director Futuremeds. At KCM he completed 180 clinical trials, in 58 projects he was the principal investigator. Almost all drugs introduced for osteoporosis treatment were studied at KCM
Founder and President of the Polish Society of Osteoatrology. Founder of the Polish Osteoporosis Portal. Member of 11 Scientific Councils of journals. Promoter of 4 PhDs and 32 Master’s and Bachelor’s theses. In 2015 awarded the prestigious International Osteoporosis Foundation award.
Prof. E. Czerwinski has organized 24 symposia and congresses in the field of osteoporosis and orthopedics, which were attended by about 9300 participants. Co-organizer of The World Congress on Osteoporosis, Krakow 2018.

Prof. dr. hab. n. med. Edward Franek
A graduate of the Medical University of Silesia (then the Silesian Medical Academy), he was a scholarship holder at the University of Heidelberg, which also included scientific internships at the Diabetes Klinik in Bad Mergentheim and the Institute of Oncology in Krakow. Currently he works at the Institute of Experimental and Clinical Medicine of the Polish Academy of Sciences, and is the head of the Department of Internal Medicine, Endocrinology and Diabetology at the Central Clinical Hospital of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration in Warsaw.
He is a member of many scientific societies. He is the author of almost 250 scientific publications and 70 chapters in textbooks and monographs, primarily in the field of diabetology (which is currently his main interest), nephrology and endocrinology. His main field of scientific interest at present is diabetes and osteoporosis.
Prof. dr hab. n. med. Piotr Głuszko
He graduated from medical studies in Kraków in 1975. He is a specialist in internal diseases and rheumatology. In the years 1977-1991 he worked at the Allergy and Immunology Clinic in Kraków, headed by professor Andrzej Szczeklik, an outstanding Polish internist. In 1984-85 and 1990/91 he was a scholarship holder at the University of Pennsylvania Medical School and a fellow at the Thrombosis Center Temple University in Philadelphia, USA. From 1991 to 2010 he was Head of the Department of Rheumatology at the Jagiellonian University. In the years 2010-2020 he headed the Clinic of Rheumatology at the National Institute of Geriatrics, Rheumatology and Rehabilitation in Warsaw.
He is an author or co-author of about 200 research papers and reviews in the field of internal medicine, rheumatology, osteoporosis and experimental immunology published both in Poland and foreign journals and presented at numerous conferences. Chapters written by the professor in monographs and medical textbooks on osteoporosis and osteoarthritis are also worth mentioning. Professor Głuszko’s contribution to the development of subsequent editions of the current Polish recommendations for diagnostic and therapeutic management of osteoporosis should be emphasized. As an academic teacher professor Głuszko has participated and continues to participate in the education of students, doctors and in pro-health educational programs addressed to broad social groups. He works in expert groups, e.g. he led a group preparing a Health Needs Map of the Ministry of Health in the area of bone and muscle diseases. He is the main author of the national osteoporosis prevention program POWER and is currently a manager of this project at the National Institute of Geriatrics, Rheumatology and Rehabilitation in Warsaw.
Prof. Nataliia Grygorieva
Professor N. Grygorieva received her medical degree in 1994 and her PhD in 1999 from Odessa Medical University (Ukraine). Since 2000 she has worked at the Department of Clinical Physiology and Pathology of the Musculoskeletal System of the SI „D.F. Chebotariev Institute of Gerontology NAMS of Ukraine”, and since 2021 she has been the head of this department.
She has been a full professor of medicine since 2017. Her research focuses on epidemiology of osteoporosis and fractures, experimental modeling of bone and joint diseases, bone and joint pathology, menopause, premature aging, sarcopenia and rehabilitation. She is deputy editor-in-chief of the Ukrainian journal „Pain, joints, spine”, member of the editorial board of some Ukrainian and foreign journals, author and co-author of more than 300 publications in national and foreign journals, more than 10 monographs, more than 30 national guidelines, newsletters and patents.

Dr hab. n. med. Ewa Kalinka
Graduated from Medical University of Lodz. She devoted her first years of medical work to internal diseases, obtaining the title of specialist in 2004. During her specialisation she became interested in lymphoid neoplasms, and then in oncology, which resulted in a doctoral dissertation in 2002. For 14 years she worked at the Regional Oncology Center at the Copernicus Hospital in Lodz as an assistant and then Head of the Chemotherapy Department.
Since 2017, she has been working at the Polish Mother’s Memorial Health Center Institute (ICZMP) in Lodz, where she created the Oncology Clinic. She has authored and co-authored over 180 papers, chapters for textbooks and conference reports. In 2020, she received her postdoctoral degree from the ICZMP.
Prof. John A. Kanis
Prof. John A. Kanis is Emeritus Professor in Human Metabolism, and Director of the Centre for Metabolic Bone Diseases (Formerly WHO Collaborating Centre), University of Sheffield, UK and Professorial Fellow at the Australian Catholic University (Melbourne). He is the Honorary President of the International Osteoporosis Foundation, member of its Committee of Scientific Advisors and Chairman of the Working Group on Epidemiology and Quality of Life. He is Honorary President of the European Society for Clinical and Economic Aspects of Osteoporosis and Osteoarthritis.
Prof. Kanis’ research interests are largely related to disorders of skeletal metabolism including osteoporosis, sarcopenia, Paget’s disease of bone, hyperparathyroidism, renal osteodystrophy and neoplasia affecting the skeleton. Contributions to research include cell biology, histomorphometry of bone, assessment and treatment of bone disorders, guideline development, health technology assessment, epidemiology, regulatory affairs and health economics. He is the Editor in Chief of Osteoporosis International and Archives of Osteoporosis, and serves on the editorial board of several journals. He is the author of more than 1000 papers, chapters and books on bone disease and metabolism. His current major interest is in the development of risk assessment algorithms and the formulation of practice guidelines in many regions of the world.
Prof. dr hab. n. med. Anna Kuryliszyn-Moskal
After graduation from Medical University of Bialystok, she started work at the Department of Rheumatology, Medical University of Bialystok, as a scholarship holder of the Doctoral Studies Program, then as an assistant, assistant professor and between 1997 and 2008 she was the Deputy Head of the Department. She is a specialist in internal medicine, rheumatology and medical rehabilitation. In 2008 she was appointed by the Rector of the Medical University of Białystok to organise the Rehabilitation Clinic of the Medical University of Białystok and to perform the duties of the Clinic’s Head, and from 01.07.2013 she has been Head of the Clinic.
In 1986 she received a doctoral degree in medical sciences. Her scientific and research interests include issues related to clinical and biochemical aspects of inflammatory process, immunopathogenesis and early diagnosis of organ complications, especially microcirculatory disorders and vasculopathy in the course of systemic connective tissue diseases. She received a scholarship of the European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR) in the Clinic of Rheumatology in Basel (Switzerland), as well as a scholarship of the A. von Humboldt Foundation in the Clinic of Rheumatology in Bad Kreuznach (Germany). An important practical achievement was the implementation of capillaroscopy for diagnostics and clinical evaluation of microcirculatory changes in the course of rheumatic diseases and the use of this examination in everyday clinical practice.
In 1996, she was awarded a postdoctoral degree in medicine, in the field of rheumatology and clinical immunology. After her habilitation, she continued her research on early diagnosis and diagnosis of microcirculatory disorders in the course of systemic connective tissue diseases and internal diseases, as well as immunopathogenesis of vascular inflammatory lesions and chronic organ complications of vasculopathy type in rheumatic diseases.
Prof. Peter Lakatos
After studies in biology and chemistry, Dr. Peter Lakatos finished medical school at the Semmelweis University, Budapest, in 1981. He started his medical career at the 1st Department of Medicine, Semmelweis University. Between 1989 and 1992 he worked with Prof. Paula Stern at the Department of Pharmacology, Northwestern University, Chicago, studying intracellular signal transduction in bone cells. In 1993, he returned to the Semmelweis University but remained a faculty member at the Northwestern University until 1998. Currently, he is a full professor of medicine and endocrinology at the Department of Medicine and Oncology, as well as head of the Clinical Research Laboratory, at the Semmelweis University.
Dr. Lakatos and his research group have actively participated in the development and introduction of biochemical and densitometric methods in the management and research of osteoporosis. In the 80’s, he was among first to develop a commercial osteocalcin radioimmunoassay. He directs basic and clinical research programs in the field of metabolic bone diseases with a special interest in osteoporosis and thyroid hormone-stimulated bone loss. During the last decade, his major interest has been in the genetic background of metabolic bone diseases as well as thyroid cancer. Dr. Lakatos also conducts drug development studies. He has authored more than 400 full length scientific articles and book chapters. Amongst other posts, Dr. Lakatos has acted as the President of the Hungarian Society for Osteoporosis and Osteoarthrology (1999-2005) and was a board member of the European Society for Calcified Tissues (1997-2007).
Prof. Olga Lesnyak
Professor of the Department of Family Medicine of the Northwestern Mechnikov State Medical University, St. Petersburg, Russia and Head of the St. Petersburg Municipal Osteoporosis Center, St. Petersburg, Russia.
A total of 32 scientific papers (candidate and doctoral) were written from her group in 1996-2018. She is author or co-author of more than 640 publications and editor-in-chief of two editions of Primer on Osteoporosis (2016, 2021) in Russian. Since 2005, she has been the head or member of the working group of all versions of the Russian National Clinical Guidelines for the Management of Osteoporosis, as well as the editor of the Clinical Guidelines for Osteoarthritis (2006) and the Clinical Guidelines for the Prevention and Treatment of Vitamin D Deficiency in Russia (2016). Olga Lesnyak was elected in 2010 and re-elected as President of the Russian Association on Osteoporosis in 2013, 2016 and 2020. She was elected president of the FFN-Russia Alliance. She was the leader of the EVA study („Epidemiology of osteoporotic fractures in Eurasia”) and the main author of two regional audits of Eastern Europe and Central Asia „Epidemiology, costs & burden of osteoporosis” (2010 and 2020). She was the initiator and chair of the Organizing Committee of four Summits of Osteoporosis Societies of Eastern Europe and Central Asia in St. Petersburg (2010, 2012 2016, and 2018).
In 2014 Olga Lesnyak received the prestigious International Osteoporosis Foundation President’s Award „In honor of outstanding personal contribution to the International Osteoporosis Foundation”.
Dr hab. n. med., prof. UMP Piotr Leszczyński
Professor of Medicine and Health Sciences at Karol Marcinkowski Medical University in Poznań, specialist in clinical rheumatology and internal medicine, head of the Clinic of Rheumatology and Osteoporosis at the Józef Strusio Multi-Specialist Municipal Hospital in Poznań and current president of the Poznań Branch of the Polish Society of Rheumatology. Promoter and reviewer of many bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral theses.
Head of medical specialization in the field of rheumatology. Lead author or co-author of 110 published scientific papers. Founder, main scientific initiator and long-term chairman of the conference „Healthy Bones and Joints”, which had 12 editions since 2010.
Prof. dr hab. n. med. Roman S. Lorenc
President and founder of the Multidisciplinary Osteoporosis Forum, representative of the Polish working group on osteoporosis in the European Parliament. Long-term employee of the Children’s Memorial Health Institute, head of the Department of Biochemistry and Experimental Medicine. Author and co-author of over 300 publications in the field of biochemistry, endocrinology, diagnostics of metabolic bone disorders.
Professor is also an active member of a number of world organizations, including the ISCD board and working groups of the International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF). He is a laureate of awards: Jędrzej Śniadecki (called Polish Nobel Prize), Purkinje Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences and Academy of Science and Bilezikian Award of ISCD.
Dr hab. n. med. Joanna Makowska
Joanna Makowska, MD, Professor of Medical University of Lodz, graduated from Medical Academy in Lodz (now Medical University of Lodz) in 1999.
Specialties: internal medicine, clinical immunology, rheumatology, internship in Universite Bernarde in Lyon (France), internship in Morriston Hospital, Swansea (UK) and Hospital de Asturias, Oviedo (Spain). She received her MD degree in 2005 and her postdoctoral degree in 2017.
From 2019 she is a professor at the Medical University of Lodz.Until 2014 she was employed as an assistant at the Asthma and Allergy Diagnostic and Treatment Center of the Rheumatology Outpatient Clinic of the Central Clinical Hospital in Lodz and also as an assistant professor at the Immunology, Rheumatology and Allergy Clinic of the Medical University of Lodz. In the same Clinic, she was also the head of the Laboratory of Allergy Diagnostics. In her scientific and clinical work at the Department of Immunology, Rheumatology and Allergy, her initial scientific interests focused on drug hypersensitivity and bronchial asthma phenotypes. Since 2015 he has been the Head of the Department of Rheumatology with Internal Diseases Subdivision at the Medical University of Lodz in the WAM – CSW University Clinical Hospital in Lodz. Scientific interests: idiopathic inflammatory myopathies, pathogenesis of inflammatory spondyloarthropathies cardiac involvement in systemic diseases.
Since 2017 head of the Regional Center for Early Rheumatology Diagnostics. In 2020 she was elected Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Teaching at the Medical University of Lodz. She also serves as a provincial consultant for the Lodz region for a five-year term, starting in January 2020. Coordinator and executor of several grants and projects financed by KBN/MNiSW/NCN or co-financed by EU Funds. Also a contractor in research projects and networks of excellence within international cooperation. Member of numerous scientific societies and scientific councils in Poland and abroad. In the course of her scientific career she has been honored with numerous awards.
Prof. dr hab. n. med. Ewa Marcinowska-Suchowierska
Practicing physician, scientist specializing in internal medicine and geriatrics. Since the beginning of her professional career – associated with the Medical Center for Postgraduate Education in Warsaw
Prof. E. Marcinowska-Suchowierska is the author or co-author of over 400 scientific and didactic papers in the field of body mineral metabolism, metabolic bone diseases and vitamin D.
Her contribution to the development of science and didactics in the field of metabolic bone diseases and vitamin D action has been recognized and sanctioned by awards of the Minister of Health, and honorary membership of the Europen Vitamin D Association (EVIDAS). She is the Chairperson of: Interdisciplinary Expert Panel on Osteoporosis, Bioethics Committee of CMKPk and also a member of the National Development Council to the President of the Republic of Poland, focusing on health care issues.
Prof. Socrates E. Papapoulos
Socrates Papapoulos is Professor Emeritus in Bone and Mineral Metabolic Diseases at Leiden University Medical Center, The Netherlands. He trained in internal medicine and endocrinology in Athens, Greece and London, UK and has been continuously involved in basic and clinical research, patient care and teaching since 1974. He has served on many boards and committees, including the IOF Board and Scientific Advisory Board, the ECTS and IBMS boards, and the European Union Committee on Osteoporosis Prevention.
Dr. Papapoulos is the recipient of the Boy Frame Memorial Award and the Frederic C Bartter Award from ASBMR, the John Haddad Jr Award from IBMS, the JB Johnson Award from Paget’s Foundation, USA, the Steven Boonen Award from ECTS, the Pierre Delmas Award from IOF and is a Doctor Honoris Causa of the Universities of Athens and Thessaloniki. His past and current editorial positions include Bone and Mineral, Bone, BONEKey, Clinical Endocrinology, Endocrine, Expert Reviews Endocrinology and Metabolism,Nature Reviews Endocrinology, Osteoporosis International, Osteoporosis Reports. For his social and scientific contributions, Dr. Papapoulos has been awarded the Commander of the Order of the Phoenix and Officer of the Order of Oranje-Nassau by the President of the Hellenic Republic and the Queen of the Netherlands, respectively.
Prof. Juraj Payer
Juraj Payer is Professor of Internal Medicine at Comenius University Faculty of Medicine in Bratislava; head of the 5th Department of Internal medicine, the biggest internal department in Bratislava. Professor Payer is also the first vice dean at Comenius University Faculty of Medicine for faculty collaboration with medical institutions, therapeutic-preventive activity and Residency Training Program. He also serves as the main expert in Endocrinology Ministry of Health Care of the Slovak Republic, vice-president of the Slovak Medical Association. Professor Payer is as a clinician endocrinologist and internist.
Professor Payer is the president of the Slovak Society for Osteoporosis and Metabolic Bone Diseases. Despite being full time clinician, he is involved in clinical research. Among his main scientific interests belong secondary endocrine osteoporosis, the topic of osteoporosis-treatment and skeletal and extra-skeletal effects of vitamin D. He supervised various trials in fields of endocrinology, metabolic diseases and osteoporosis. He is the main author of basic Slovak national guidelines for osteoporosis management.
He has published more than 600 articles and book chapters with more than 400 citations and given a large number of invited lectures in the past. He is the editor of the first Slovak monography in osteoporosis.
Prof. dr hab. n. med. Jerzy Przedlacki
Graduated from the 1st Medical Faculty of Warsaw Medical University in 1980. Since 1980 he has worked at the Department of Nephrology, Dialysis and Internal Diseases of the Medical University of Warsaw.
From 1994 to 2020 he worked at the National Osteoporosis Center in Warsaw, since 2005 as its Medical Director. In 1987 he defended his doctoral thesis entitled Scintigraphic diagnosis of renal osteodystrophy, and in 2004 he received his habilitation for his thesis entitled Treatment of renal osteodystrophy with low doses of alfacalcidol.
In 2015, he received the title of professor in medical sciences. He is the author of 6 books on the principles of osteoporosis management and pharmacological treatment in osteoporosis and 6 chapters in textbooks on osteoporosis, renal osteodystrophy and acute kidney injury.He is the author of more than 100 medical publications, in Polish and foreign journals and more than 200 congress reports at Polish and foreign congresses.
In 1994 he organized and still runs the Densitometry Laboratory at the Medical University of Warsaw thanks to the donation of a densitometer machine by the Polish Foundation for Polish Science on the basis of a multi-centre research project he had developed on bone mineralisation disorders in children, and in 2006, on the basis of an application he had developed, the Medical University of Warsaw purchased a new densitometer machine from the funds of the State Committee for Scientific Research. He is a member of the Multidisciplinary Osteoporotic Forum and the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research (ASBMR).
Dr n. med. Maria Rell-Bakalarska
Doctor of Medicine internist and rheumatologist. Passionate about medical education.
She graduated from Medical Academy in Warsaw. She has had a long way from the basics of medicine in the district clinics to giving practical lectures in the Interdisciplinary Academy of Practical Medicine IAMP created by her in 2005.
From a doctor at the Public Health Care Institution in Ryki, a doctor at the Industrial House Factory in Skarżysko-Kamienna, the District Rheumatological Clinic in Warsaw, through a position of an assistant at the Clinic of Rheumatology at the Institute of Rheumatology in Warsaw, then a head of the Rheumatological Clinic at the Institute of Rheumatology, to a scientific director of the Interdisciplinary Academy of Practical Medicine IAMP conducting educational activities for family doctors and rheumatologists all over Poland. He is the author or co-author of many publications and educational books, as well as numerous lectures at national medical conferences of various scientific societies.
Prof. dr hab. n. med. Ewa Sewerynek
Head of the Department of Endocrine Disorders and Bone Metabolism, Department of Endocrinology, Medical University of Lodz. Head of Endocrinology Outpatient Clinic and Regional Menopause and Osteoporosis Center at University Clinical Hospital named after WAM in Lodz, Poland.
Specialist in internal medicine and endocrinology. Since 2005 she has headed the Department of Endocrine Disorders and Bone Metabolism at the Medical University of Lodz and has been involved in bone disorders, including osteoporosis, since 1990-1993 and 2002-2008 as the President of the Lodz Branch of the Polish Endocrine Society. She is a member of Polish and European Society of Endocrinology and Polish and International Society of Neuroendocrinology.
Since 2005 she has been a member of Łódź Scientific Society. She is the President of the Prof. Wanda Horst-Sikorska Scholaris Society, which also carries on the tradition of the Multidisciplinary Osteoporotic Forum.
In 1993-1995 she completed 2 foreign internships: in Paris – at the Department of Immunology of Necker Hospital on a scholarship awarded by the French Government Ministry of Technology (V 1993 – II 1994) Main research directions of the Department of Endocrine Disorders and Bone Metabolism, Medical University of Lodz, Poland: 1. Evaluation of OPG/RANK/RANKL gene expression and quantitative changes in protein products of these genes in peripheral blood mononuclear cells after therapy with ibandronate, strontium. 2. Evaluation of adherence to alendronate 70 therapy in patients treated for osteoporosis – the role of motivating factors in medical practice. 3. evaluation of the relation between estradiol and testosterone concentrations and bone metabolism parameters in men with osteoporosis 4. evaluation of the 10-year fracture risk using the FRAX calculator and the NGYUEN monogram in patients treated for osteoporosis 5. assessment of vitamin D requirement in a group of women during the period of building peak bone mass. 6. Evaluation of pro- and anti-inflammatory and immunological processes in patients with autoimmune thyroiditis in euthyroid state during vitamin D supplementation. 7 Evaluation of genetic predisposition to fractures in patients with low bone mass and osteoporosis. 8 Evaluation of novel bone turnover markers in postmenopausal osteoporotic patients and their correlation with fracture risk.
Dr hab. n. med. Ewa Wielosz
Since 2001, she has been working at the Chair and Clinic of Rheumatology and Systemic Connective Tissue Diseases at the Medical University of Lublin. In 2004, she became a specialist in internal medicine and in 2008 a specialist in rheumatology. After obtaining the degree of Doctor of Medicine in 2001, when she started working as an assistant, and then as an assistant professor in the Department of Rheumatology at the Medical University of Lublin, her scientific interests were related to the broadly defined topic of systemic connective tissue diseases, and since 2003, she has dealt with the topic of systemic scleroderma.
In 2018, she received the degree of Doctor of Medicine. Scientific achievements were: A series of 11 thematically related publications under the common title: „Evaluation of selected serological and clinical parameters in a group of patients with systemic scleroderma”. He is the author and co-author of 61 publications, including 45 as the first author. Total IF of publications is 18.640, KBN/MNISW 721.5 ministerial points, h-index 6. Research results were presented in the form of 45 papers delivered at international and national conferences. In addition, I work in the Osteoporosis Treatment Clinic, performing bone denitometry. I perform capillaroscopic examination of the nail shaft vessels within the Department of Rheumatology and Rheumatology Outpatient Clinic.
Dr hab. n. med. Jarosław Woroń
D. in medical sciences and health sciences, specialist in pharmacology, clinical pharmacologist, head of the Department of Clinical Pharmacology of the Faculty of Pharmacology of the Jagiellonian University CM in Krakow and senior medical assistant in the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care of the University Hospital in Krakow, court expert in clinical pharmacology. He deals with practical aspects of pharmacotherapy, pharmacological pain management, psychopharmacotherapy, clinical antibiotic therapy and drug interaction problems in clinical practice.
Secretary of the Board of the Polish Association for the Study of Pain , member of the Board of the Polish Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, member of the Scientific Council of the Polish Society for Safe Pharmacotherapy and the European Society for Clinical Pharmacology.
