Objectives. The bone healing is the continuous process, determined by the plural exo- and endogenous factors. Bone injures may distort as well as stimulate the longitudinal bone growth. The trauma of the bone shaft demands the proper fixation and adequate nutrients and osteotrophic supply.

Aim. Aim is to study the dynamics of the ultrastructure of regenerate, formed by implanting in the tibias of material OK-015, saturated with selenium.

Materials and methods. The experiment was conducted on 252 white male mature rats with an initial weight of 135-145 g, divided into 6 groups: 1st group – intact animals, 2nd group – rats, which were applied through a defect in the tibia with a diameter of 2.2 mm. In 3rd group were implanted into the defect material OK-015 without additives. In groups 4-6 defect was filled with blocks of OK-015 saturated with selenium at concentrations respectively 0.15%, 0.30% and 0.50%. Periods of observation were 7, 15, 30, 60, 90 and 180 days. After the experiment the animals were decapitated under ether anesthesia and the tibia isolated. A fragment corresponding to the location of implantation was separated, triturated in an agate mortar and examined by X-ray analysis on apparatus DRON-2 with goniometric attachment GUR-5 (coefficient of microtexture and crystallite sizes were calculated).

Results. The crystallite sizes of the regenerate in the presence of ion selenium in implant at 7 days of observation were more parameters of 3rd group: by 8.95% in 4th group, by 18.03% in 5th group and 14.87% in 6th group. The crystallite size were smaller than the 3rd group: by 9.55% in 4th group, by 13.59% in 5th group and 19.17% in 6th group on 15 day of observation. These changes support the view to accelerate the rate bioresorption of implant in the presence of selenium in it, the most effective is the concentration of selenium in the implant 0.30% and 0.50%.

In the presence of selenium in the implant the coefficient of microtexture changed as follows: its value was more than in the 3rd group on 7, 30 and 60 days, respectively, in 4th group by 11.18%, 7.16% and 7.79%, in 5th group – by 11.40%, 8.77% and 11.36%, and in the 6th group – by 11.86%, 14.62% and 11.36%.

Conclusions. The obtained data indicate that the presence of selenium in the implant increases the degree of order of the crystal lattice of tibia regenerate and thus confirms the assumption that the experimental conditions are accelerated processes of biodegradation of the implanted material OK-015.

Cel. Celem było zbadanie dynamiki ultrastruktury regeneratu tworzonego poprzez wszczepienie w kości piszczelowe materiału OK-015 wysyconego selenem.

Materiał i metody. Doświadczenie prowadzono na 252 dojrzałych białych samcach szczurów o początkowej wadze 135-145 g, podzielonych na 6 grup: 1 grupa – zwierzęta nienaruszone, grupa 2 – szczury, którym uszkodzono kość piszczelową na przekroju 2,2 mm. W grupie 3 wszczepiono w ubytek kości materiał OK-015 bez dodatków. Grupy 4-6 – ubytki kości wypełniono blokami OK-015 wysyconymi selenem w stężeniu odpowiednio 0,15%, 0,30% i 0,50%. Okresami obserwacji były 7, 15, 30, 60, 90 i 180 dni. Po zakończeniu eksperymentu zwierzęta uśmiercono w znieczuleniu eterem i wyizolowano kości piszczelowe. Fragment odpowiadający miejscu implantacji oddzielono, rozdrobniono w moździerzu agatowym i zbadano metodą rentgenowskiej analizy w aparacie DRON-2 z goniometrycznymi mocowaniami GUR-5 (obliczono współczynnik mikrostruktury i wielkości krystalitów).

Wyniki.

Wnioski. Uzyskane dane wskazują, że obecność selenu w implancie zwiększa stopień uporządkowania sieci krystalicznej regeneratu kości piszczelowej, potwierdzając zatem założenia, że warunki doświadczalne przyspieszają procesy biodegradacji implantowanego materiału OK-015.
